Editor of the populist weekly journal John Bull, demagogic MP, financier turned fraudster and crook: Horatio Bottomley at Bow Street Police Court in 1922 for his trial for fraud. Bottomley swindled his readers through the John Bull Victory Bond Club and went to prison for seven years. Corruption has a history.
