There and back: bikepacking by numbers

In which Adam and Matt decide that it’s a good idea to head out into mid-Wales on a bikepacking trip in torrential rain, gales, hail and generally all round grimness.

Miles planned:  85

Miles done: 50.08 — most of those on day 1 when the weather was at its spectacular worst. By day 2 nothing had quite dried out and even the sun coming out couldn’t make too much difference.

Rivers in flood: 2 — 1 of which needed a long diversion.

Trees down: I lost count but 1 needed a long diversion and the 2nd forced us to cut our losses at the end of day 1.

Type of fun: 2. It’s always good to get out but this was borderline.

Required rule: a healthy dose of #5

The view over coffee this morning wasn’t too shabby though.
